Lifeflight of Maine came to the Island on November 7 to conduct a ground safety course and to familiarize us with the equipment. The helicopter shown will carry one patient and is to be replaced with a larger 2 patient version sometime after the 1st of the year. Response from the time the call is made should be under 20 minutes and the trip to the hospital is 10 min to Lewiston and 15 or so to Portland, since they would have to fly into the airport in town and then take an ambulance to Maine Med.
